500km and 92 Supporters in 96h?

6h ago I was desparate to get through my toughest marathon - soaked and freezing. Now, I’m writing these lines at 10PM - light rain tapping against our caravan.

Behind us lie: 15 days on the road. 641 kilometers of running. 900 minutes of strength training. In two short weeks, our shoes have carried me across 3 (!) countries.

How we’ve made it this far with the Hybrid Sport? I’ll tell you.

German Roads: KM 1-100 🇩🇪

We estimated our direct route to the factory to be 1,900 kilometers (Google Maps never lies). During 50 marathons in 50 days that should provide us with a buffer of 200km - in case we run into trouble.

Smart as we were, of course we chose the most challenging path to kick things off: straight through the mountains of Eifel National Park. Climbing over 600 meters in elevation every day. It seemed to be the correct warm up for the coming days.

Belgian Hills: KM 101-269 🇧🇪

On day 3, we could not wait to cross over into quiet, charming Belgium. After 72 short hours, It felt surreal to turn our - by that time - fairly local run into a multi-national one.

Secretely, we had hoped for better weather and fewer hills—but no such luck. In fact, Belgium turned out to be one long, endless hill with a side of wind and rain. Who would have thought?

French Woods: KM 270-641 🇫🇷

On day 7 - after one straight week of marathons - we finally made it to France. But before things got better, they got worse. For two days, I forced myself through knee-deep mud and forgotten trails in the middle of nowhere - almost getting lost myself.

Then on day 10 - just a day before our Kickstarter launch - the forest began to open up, and the climate finally improved. Since our first ‘Re-Sole’ at the 500km mark, we started hammering away and beat our previous marathon time almost every day!

Currently, we’re still running the outskirts of the Champagne, heading toward Bordeaux! Meanwhile, the Hybrid Sport has reached nearly 100 backers in just 96 hours.
